I want to combine the following two teks. I dont fully understand chemestry so please someone tell me if this will work.

Tek one
Mix one part bark powder with one part sodium carbonate.

Add hot isopropyl or ethyl alcohol and shake. Wait 24hrs. Filter alcohol and do two more pulls just the same.

Evaporate the 3 pulls.

Crude freebase dmt resin is yeilded. It can be smoked, but is not so pure. So i want to purify it with another tek:

Tek two

Mix one part crude dmt with one part naphta or hexane or heptane in a shot glass.

Place shot glass in hot water bath and stir until dmt disolves.

Let it cool, refrigerate, and freeze.

After some hours, the dmt will pricipitate in layers: dark resin on bottom red/yellow crystals in the middle and white crystals on top.

So whould it work to combine these two teks?

In the first tek you mix bark powder and sodium carbonate dry and then pull with ipa.
I would have thought it necessery to get the powder wet with water to make a paste and a week later let the paste dry like a yopo tek. And then pull with ipa.

So is the yopo-tek-like step unnecessery?
Can dmt realy be basifyed without water?

Or does the 9% water in 91% ipa do it?
Whould 99% ipa not work?
