Which is better for extractions? Options

Hello everyone! So I was wonder what is best for extractions? SWIM is using Vovin's TEK and was wondering if he could substitute the naphtha for heptane and still freeze precipitate?

Also SWIM saw that some one said Klean Strip VM&P naphtha isn't very clean and that Crown is better? Any truth to this? SWIM has always thought Klean Strip was the way to go. SWIM has had good results with it and figured that if he does a recrystallization with Hexane he should be able to remove any remaining impurities.

Use q21q21 and follow directions

Well that was not helpful at all....I'm not going to use that TEK when I'm already familiar with another one. I do follow directions as I have had good results with Vovin's TEK. I simply want to know if I can substitute one solvent(naphtha) for another one
(n-Heptane ACS REAGENT) and if one naphtha(Crown VM&P) has been proven cleaner than another(Klean Strip VM&P).

Yes, heptane will give you a much cleaner freeze precip than naptha, but being so clean means that it's extra selective so you should do a couple of pulls with a less selective solvent after your heptane pulls to make sure you're not leaving anything behind.

in fact, you can do a xylene/limonene pull afterwards to get some jungle dmt.

also to my knowledge VM&P is perfectly safe.

Thanks Noman! Just so i got this clear, you are saying I can substitute the naphtha for the Heptane, then follow it with naphtha pulls just in case and to obtain any other alkaloids? Or do you mean I can use the naphtha for the pulls and recrystallize with Heptane? Would using the heptane from the get go make recrystallization unnecessary? What about n-Hexane (ACS REAGENT) for crystallization when using either naphtha or heptane for pulls followed by freeze precipitating?

Thanks Parshvik! Im unlcear though as to if xylene is the same thing as limonene or you mean I could use either of those?

Hi 3rdIOpen,

I use vovin's tek as well.
I'll be doing three standard pulls with Naptha.
Then two final pulls with Xylene.

Xylene and Limonene are two different things and Parshvik Christian was saying either one could be used.

They are different solvents but almost equally (xylene slightly preferable) selective of alkaloids. Check the wiki for specific info on alkaloid solubility. Should have solvent solubility listed on the scientific info pages for DMT/etc and also perhaps on solvent pages.

D-Limonene smells of oranges and is food-safe. Xylene from what I've read is not food safe and smells much more like a chemical solvent. For these reasons I personally chose D-Limonene for full spectrum extractions.

The inner soul is full of joy. Reveal my secrets and sew me whole. With each day, "I" heeds your call.
You may not care the slightest and may not be the brightest, but from here "I" sees you're mighty for you created it all.

And the jumbling sea rose above the wall.

Through this chaos comes the order you enthrall.

Ok cool thanks you VII! The next time I do an extraction before I discard the naphtha Ill give it another few pulls with D-limonene.
