Howdy! So I know that a little bit of NaOH gets dissolved into the naphtha layers after the basified pulls in an A/B extraction scheme, but how exactly does a wash of sodium carbonate solution (like in vovin's tek) clear NaOH from the naphtha? Does anyone know the chemical mechanism behind this phenomenon? Thx!
