Dry ice for freeze precipitation? Options

Hello. I searched the forums and couldn't find any info on this. I was wondering if one could use dry ice to facilitate a freeze precipitation. For instance, set the beaker in a 'box' made of dry ice. OR, would simply putting the crushed dry ice in the naptha work? Even if you poured your naptha with residual dry ice in the filter after crystals precipitate, it would just evaporate away leaving just your crystals, no? Any input appreciated. Cheers!

perhaps a dry ice in acetone slurry, since it maintains a constant temp around -78 C.
for all practical purposes, a -20 C freezer works just fine.

IDK if its possible, but putting dry ice IN your naptha could cause precipitation of dmt carbonate via gassing of the solvent. Might be wrong there though, carbonic acid only exists in solution iirc, but you hear reports of mesc freebase being left out salting to the carbonate salt from co2 in the air, so idk.

Putting the naptha/heptane in a dry ice/alcohol bath definitely would be one of the best ways to precipitate out fb, and both are fairly easily accessible. If you have access to a freezer though, i think its just over-complexifing the freeze precipitation. An advantage though, is that its so cold most/all of the dmt would precipitate on the first freeze, rather than have to evap the naptha down and freeze again to get the last bit when using a freezer.

So, are you saying this wouldn't work with naptha? Mind explaining why it wouldn't? I was just hoping to bypass the freezer and do it in 30 minutes or so with dry ice. Thanks.

I'm talking about preparing a mixture of dry ice in acetone, a common practice in chemistry, which takes the temp lower than what you're suggesting.

...........acetone =/= naptha. Guess I'll just try it and see. Thanks anyway.

no kidding.
I don't think you get it....the temp will be lower with dry ice in acetone (you put your glass container containing the naphtha in it) than dry ice in naphtha.

Stop what's ze hurry mang?.. you can get smokeable molecule in 8~12 hours in the freezer, & unless i missed the bulletin tomorrow hasn't been cancelled yet...

this molecule really tends to reward a little patience...
