Hey everyone,
So SWIM did an A/B extraction over MhRb using xylene, not knowing the problems this can cause. SWIM was more curious as to obtaining a red spice. The xylene extraction gave SWIM problems with evaporating the extract, even while using a food dehydrator. SWIM decided to salt out the dmt with a TASA solution, heard that tartaric acid can be substituted for fumaric acid. Precipitates formed when mixing the TASA and spice solution. These salts are also having troubles evaporating and just turning into a sludge. SWIM experimented leaving the solution in the sun vs fridge vs freezer. At this point SWIM is in this for experience not for yield. Should SWIM freebase these with sodium carbonate, or will SWIM just come out with a different colored sludge?

You could mix it with sodium carbonate and a bit of water in a wider container, let it react, dry it with the food dehydrator or just air dry, scrape it off into a glass and pull with acetone or IPA or ethanol, and evaporate. The product might solidify into something more waxy if you insist a bit on drying, scraping and rescraping it. But it might also stay as oily, in which case you can infuse some herbs with it.
What was the exact problem you had with evaporating xylene with the food dehydrator? It took too long? Or final product was not a solid (which is normal for xylene) ?
