I am new to this forum, and yes this is my first post. I know theirs already an official thread for this but It looks kinda dead.

Well anyways, the extraction teck I was using was with mimosa, sodium hydroxide, and naphtha.

I'm having trouble separating the Naphtha (Shellite) from the black goop, it seems like maybe the layer is too thin to pour out with out getting the goop mixed in.

Should I add more Naphtha in hopes the layer increased after stirring? Or does any one have any tips on separating it? Anything I could use that would make it easier?

What you need to do is put it inside a 2Lt Pepsi bottle, flip it over and somehow attach a (shit i forgot the name)...

Simply use a Pipette to suck out all the Naptha from the top layer, i say tilt the jar/bottle a little so you can get everything out. (be sure to tilt it slowly)
