After waiting patiently two months while reading all there was to read, yesterday I finally did my first extraction. But I suppose something went wrong as it has passed eight hours and the crystals haven't formed yet. I was really sad when I first saw that nothing happened and that probably my journey will not pass through this phase.

I used 125GR of MHRB (bought in MHRB-Shop.nl), 150ML of White Wine Vinegar with 6% acidity (it was the only one I could get in Portugal as we have different customs), 100GR of CaOH and as the solvent, I used Zippo Lighter Fluid (couldn't order online and this was the only one I found in my city).



Added vinegar and near-bolling tap water to the MRHB always mixing periodically during forty minutes.



I then added the NaOH, creating the right consistency. Initially, it was too dry so I added some water. After that, it simply wasn't too dry nor too wet. Left the mix to rest during one hour.



Finally, I put the recipient containing the mix inside the large container with boiling water. After that, I added about 100ML of Naptha and let it stay for ten minutes. After that, I took the Naptha to the freeze precipitation container and placed it on the freezer. Did a second pull with new Naptha and did the same as the first pull.



I did everything with great love and respect possible. I got extremely sad. Even sadder is not knowing what did I do wrong. I pray and hope that someone elucidates me. What did I do wrong? What can I do now?

endlessness, I read the F.A.Q. before posting but I just wanted to confirm what is happening, sorry.

Does anyone know what are those "white things" in the last picture?

It isn't the best solvent but I read many extractions reports that used Zippo Lighter Fluid with great sucess. The Mimosa source is trustworthy. I'll try and do what the F.A.Q. suggests.

I believe the TEK mentions to use distilled white vinegar.
What you have in the picture there seems different.

It's white wine vinegar but how do I know if the problem is because of the vinegar? It has Acetic Acid, which I guess is the most important requirement to worry about.

If you did an evap test and it evaps clean, solvent should be good.

Maybe evap down the naphtha before freezing. Or now, evap down more and freeze again what you already have.

Make better mixing next time, you said you let it stand for 10 mins, you should do many cycles of mixing before pulling. Im kinda repeating the FAQ here.

The vinegar shouldnt be the problem.

Also one unrelated thing, you said NaOH in the first post, and not CaOH (or Ca(OH)2 )

Well, my mixture was too dry so I added some near-boling tap water. Left it to rest for ten minutes and then I tried to do another pull. This time with success, some few hours later there were some crystals formed. I wasted quite a bit solvent containing DMT but next time I'll be more careful. It could be worst, I guess.

Thank you all. Indeed, the vinegar wasn't the problem and the Zippo Lighter Fluid evaporates clean. My bad, I obviously used Calcium Hydroxide, sorry!

i have a question. Do you pull from the same bark goo over and over? The tek said to pull also 1-2 weeks afterwards. Do you leave the goo in the fridge or do you leave it out in the open unlidded?
