How long it takes for a HDPE jug to leak when it contains a lye solution (1g/15ml) ?
I've mine sitting in a house since two months..is it ok ?

I've got one sitting that I got from a friend, they had it sitting a couple of months and I've had it about 3 weeks. Ratio is 1g/12ml. You should have a few weeks left anyway. No idea how long it takes to leak... does it happen eventually? -Я Ξ √ Ω L U T ↑ Ø N-

For me, I have no glass container. Could probably get one without too much hassle but I don't really care, I don't mind using plastic. Of all the bad things going into my body, trace amounts of phthalates vaped once or twice a month isn't really a concern. I am curious about what OP has said about HDPE leaking if being left for too long, I was not aware that could happen. -Я Ξ √ Ω L U T ↑ Ø N-

Thus contaminating your spice. Personally I would just go out and get some pasta sauce, enjoy some yummy pasta and then use the jar for the extraction. Make sure it's a thick jar if you can. Peace!
