hello nexus Smile

I have noticed that different extraction teks say you should raise your pH to different levels..
with regard to a mhrb a/b extraction...
1. -is it true that a pH of 14 will destroy a large amount of the alkaloids?
2. -is it true that a pH of 8.5 - 9.5 is all you really need?
I couldn't find this issue addressed anywhere, so i thought i'd ask here. surely i'm not the only one wondering!
thank you all.

peace and love

note: mantis12 is nothing more than a five-dimensional carnivorous insect from a parallel universe that browses this dimension's web at night studying psychedelic compounds and their effects on the development and expansion of consciousness in the earth-man. he prefers to sleep upside-down in the shade of a psilocybin mushroom and biting the heads off the moths he catches by the porch light.
everything he says should be regarded as purely fictional.

It all depends on what you want to extract. For dmt and mescaline,
1.No
2.No

For psilocin:
1.yes
2.yes

for harmalas:

1. depends
2. depends

For yuremamine:

1. too late
2. too late

Assuming you ask about dmt extractions, a pH of 13+ is to your best interest, especially if you're new to the hobby. A pH of 14 will most certainly not harm the dmt in any detectable way and a pH of 15 you'll have very hard time reaching accurately (so do not bother).
