Hello friends,

I've synthesize some of SWIM's questions about different thing about DMT extractions SWIM made / SWIM'll do in the future. Sorry for my english, it is probably ... Belgium french speaking loud :-)

First question

Currently, when SWIM does an extraction (Noman tek), SWIM uses these proportions : 900 ml H2O (water) for 60 g NaOH (lye) and 60 g MHRB pre-powdered (ordered on "http://www.adenium.com.br/mimosa.asp". Is that OK ? Or does SWIM have to add more water and/or lye ? ISWIM ask this question because on this page(https://wiki.dmt-nexus.me/Noman's_tek), in the remarks, there is noted this : "Note that if pre-powdered bark is being used, 1.5 - 2X of the water called for will be required.". Is it OK for you ?

After waiting 2 hours after mixing all this stuff in the erlenmeyer, SWIM do 4 pulls with 60 ml of Naphta each (A680), and freezes-precip it. Do He has to use less solvent for each pull (because it seems that 60ml solvent are good saturated for precip correctly) ?

SWIM has, for 60g of MHRB, always min. 500 mg of pure white DMT, it precip very well (generally, 4-5 ours freezing is sufficient), so He don't have to do an evap before freezing the solvent.

Second question

SWIM bought a magnetic stirrer and used it for his last extraction. The magnetic bar is small (4 cm, but He needs one of 8 cm - so 2/3 of the diameter of the bottom of the erlenmeyer), so he has to let it stir more longer before solvent had perfectly mix in the solution H2O + NaOH - the vortex with his current bar don't reach the bottom of the jar (+- 15 minutes each time, but He hope that with a 8 cm bar, it will take 4-5 minutes because the vortex will be more powerfull).

For the first pull, solvent separate faster, like when SWIL stirs with hands, but for the second and the third pulls, the solvent takes respectively 1 hour and more than one night to separate from the lye/water (here is picture after one night : http://img545.imageshack...v.jpg&action=rotate), like if it has been so well stirred than the solvent didn't want to separate. How it is possible, because SWIM didn't shake, so He doesn't understand ... let the machine stir 15-20 minutes can make an emulsion ? What happens :-) ?

Third question

SWIM thinks that, because of waiting all night, there is something in his solvent looks like light orange cloudy thing, it could be DMT coloured because of been very long time in lye ... look at the picture here (SWIM take a sample of the 3 strata/coloured things in a little glass bottle) : http://img406.imageshack...r.jpg&action=rotate &

You have the solvent at top, in middle a light orange thing (at the bottom of the solvent), and lye/water/MHRB at very bottom of the bottle. Do you know if light orange cloud is DMT coloured ?

Fourth question

On this picture, you'll see first and second pull dmt (pure and fine/thin white DMT like the first pictures I give at beginning of this pm) next to the third pull DMT, which seems to be more heavy cristals, less fine/thin than the 2 first pulls ... and it is also little little yelowish, but very little bit : http://img831.imageshack...v.jpg&action=rotate What do you think ? Can SWIM mix all because it's ok ?

Fifth question

After freeze-precip and collect DMT, SWIM have always these things at the bottom of the solvent bottles : http://img829.imageshack...s.jpg&action=rotate & http://img80.imageshack....h.jpg&action=rotate And He used demineralised water, so it's strange ... What do you think ?

Last question

If SWIM wants to recrystallize DMT, He heard the hexane was the best ... is it OK for you ?

Can you explain how to do a recrystallization (or point a link which give precise explanations), and give him, for 1 g of DMT, how much hexane SWIM has to use .. He wants to know proportions between all compounds for recrystallization ...

I know there is a lot informations in this pm, but SWIM really needs your help :-) (all those questions are the results of 20 extractions SWIM did in his life until today ^^

I use roughly the same recipe, maybe a little more water
Second question
I'm using a magnetic stirrer too, but I don't set it that high that the vortex comes all the way to the bottom, this would slam the naphtha all around in the soup. Just let it stir gently
Fourth question
Its mostly plant fats with probably dmt in it. I just let those things sit in there until the next freeze
Last question
From what I have heard Heptane is the way to go, it has one more carbon group than hexane.
It takes about 25~30 ml of hot heptane to dissolve 1 gram of dmt.
Do this in a tiny bottle which you can place inside a thermos or coolbox.
Fill the coolbox with hot water and let it sit for a day.
Then put the coolbox in to the freezer to get the slowest cooling possible
