Okay so this will be my first ever extraction of any kinds, I've done my fair share of research on this topic and I've got a few quesions. I've composed a quick list of everything I need to go purchase, most of it I will purchase at local stores, some of it off the internet. Here's the list I made:

1 pound mimosa hostilis root bark
1 gallon plastic jug
white vinegar
3 liter crockpot
1 gallon wide mouthed glass
1 gallon glass wine jug
lye "roebic crystal drain opener"
VM&P naptha
glass turkey baster
pint mason jars
funnel
quart mason jars
small coffe filter
ph papers
ace hardwars janitorial strength ammonia


I plan on purchasing two of everything that doesn't already come in an abundance, now I was considering buying the lye off the internet because I don't know if our lowes down here will carry it, I'm going to check ACE hardware (lowes is a 45 minute drive away.) to see if they have anything but I doubt they will. We have a bit of a meth problem down here so im wandering what alternatives i have to lye? Also any good tips for a first timer? I know to vent the bottle when they are being shaken, but thats really about it.

Have you seen the part that says 'Ammonia Washing is a dated procedure and it is strongly advised that this step be omitted'?

I have not, it seems alot of stuff is very out date. I'm going to do alot more research tonight on all this, I don't have much time so I'm devoting the next 4 or 5 hours to this website and reading alot of the posts so I thank you for that.
