Hey guys,

I did the molar math for an exact titration of lsa with citric acid and it turn out to be some ridiculously small amount of citric, too small to be workable even in a 1% w/v solution. I checked literature on it and found a source that uses 25ml of 1% tartaric acid for a 5mg sample of seeds. with is astronomical overkill as far as a titration goes, so my questions:

what are the downsides to using more acid than needed for a complete titration, if any?

What determines the best concentration of an acid to use?

if citric acid is triprotic it should associate with three lsa molecules right?

citric acid has a pKa3 of approx 5, so will it be in its full conjugate base form(3-) at a pH above 5?

I know some of these questions seem random, but if anyone can answer even one of them i will be fully grateful.
