Ok so I used the limtek method i found
here down to the fumarate salt.
I then proceeded to use step 6 of the
BLAB to convert to freebase.
My first attempt was quite dissapointing. I think I didn't saturate the water with enough sodium carbonate and I ended up only getting around 50 mg of tiny tiny crystals a few shades lighter than brown sugar after 3 days in the fridge.
Knowing I should have gotten around 250-300 mg of freebase with the amount of fumarate I dissolved (350ish mg), I saved the water I filtered and this time I prepared a lot more sodium carbonate and saturated the water really well, then used a plastic syringe to add it to the DMT fumarate water drop by drop so I could tell more easily when it stopped clouding up.
Then I popped it back in the fridge around mid morning. Late that night I went to check to see if any of those same tiny crystals were forming and I noticed that the water was starting to freeze so I moved it up to a higher shelf.
This morning I went back to check and there were still these monstrous shards that looked like ice at the bottom. It was really beautiful but I thought there was no way that could be DMT after seeing the first product I pulled out.
So I filtered it out and it didnt melt so it obviously wasnt ice. I have them drying out now so I can't get an accurate measurement yet but I can post some pictures for you to look at and tell me what you think.
I'm just basically shocked by the original size of the crystals, a lot were over an inch, and the pure color of them. For this being my first batch, I'm convinced this isn't DMT, but some big horrible accident like I crystallized the sodium carbonate or something (if that's even possible).
Anyway. Here are the pics.
(Sorry about the quality. My camera seems to have
died while I was in Iraq and my wife's battery
conveniently died before I could take a decent
picture. So it's the good ole iphone)
