I use q21q21's lime tek and just want to use naphtha to pull white crystals. My yield recently dropped a ton from last years extractions and I think its due to n-oxide in the old bark.

I've read to use zinc powder during the acid phase to break the oxide down into retrievable spice. How much powder should be used per 100gm of mhrb? And then how does one filter the zinc out before basifying with lime?

I have a small zinc anode bar I purchased at a marine store that I assume I could file down into a powder...

EDIT: After some more research it appears a limo pull may be needed prior to doing a reduction? Then use a coffee filter to hold back the zinc? I saw pics of a green extract which *may* have been due to zinc in another thread Shocked

Thanks so much!!!
