Hello All,
Swim is is trying lazyman tek for first time, he has successfully completed a similar extraction before using another STB tek.
He has noticed that once naptha has been added the mixture does not form emulsion of any kind as swim has experienced in the past, the naptha just sits on top despite vigorous stirring.
The mimosa used was shredded rather than powdered since the nazis changed the import policy. Swim noticed that once powdered the material contained a large proportion of stringy roughage and a little powder. Swim is worried that this material is of poor quality and has not caused emulsion due to the low amounts of actual powder. Is the roughage in any way useful to swim or should he discard it and just use the powder?
Many Thanks

No emulsion has no relation to quality of mimosa. How fine was it shredded? If it was very coarse, with too big pieces, leave it soaking in lye water for longer before starting to pull.. If its small strings and powder, then its good enough, just proceed as normal, use it all.
If its not forming emulsion the pH is very high, which is good. Good luck!

The long stringy fibers do contain alkaloids use them along with the moar finely powdered product, throwing them out would be a waste of active material.
