Ok so SWIM was doing an extraction with some MHRB, SWIM had 1kg of the stuff and first tried 350g and 350g NAOH followed Normans tek but ended up with extremely dirty red naptha that was very difficult to get any purity out of. On a hunch SWIM then tried 350g and 350g NAOH again this time however SWIM let the MHRB and the NAOH sit for 30 min before adding the naptha. This time no red dirty naptha just a light shade of yellow, and when freeze precipitated came out almost perfect white with a little yellow dmt.
So my question is why would allowing the NAOH and MHRB sit for 30 min before adding the naptha affect the extraction this way and if so the TEK should be altered to state this wait time if it did. Oh and forgot to mention that my hunch is that allowing it to sit for a time period allowed the fats to break down.
