Hi Guys
Probably a really dumb question but I want to post a pic and cannot work out how.
When I click the insert image button the following appears but nothing elase happens.

I also tried dragging an image into the post but that didn't help either.
Can somebody put me out of my misery please?

Hi,
put the url of the pic between [imgg]and[/imgg]
so it looks like [imgg]URL of the picture inhere[/imgg]

I made a double gg to make it readable, its img instead of imgg
Some pics do not work however, some taken from google pictures wont show here, dunno why.

Other method is to add a picture as an attachment, if you have it on your system able to upload.

Your bb code for embedding an image should look like this
Code:

[img]http://url-to-your-image.com/my-image.jpg[/img]

See more examples and parameters at https://www.bbcode.org/examples/?id=10

At https://imgbb.com/ you can upload images, and just copy the generated code and paste it in your post.

Google 'bb code' if you need more answers. And use the preview function if you want to make sure it looks good before posting .

Good luck.

Lets test this in real life:

Code:
URL:  https://www.dmt-nexus.me/forum/resource.ashx?a=50627

Code:
[img]https://www.dmt-nexus.me/forum/resource.ashx?a=50627[/img]

...

Still not working somehow and yet my picture is visible where it was stored.

Thanks for the advice
I'll add them as an attachment at the end I think.
Seems like the easiest method.

Most forum engines don’t allow you to upload images to their servers as the files take a lot of space that costs money, and comes with technical challenges too.

I don't use many forums, but the images seem to have gone so I'm happy enough.

You need an url to an image file, ending with.jpg,.png etc.
For example url to the Google logo.
https://www.google.com/i...elogo_color_160x56dp.png

The bb code should look like this.
Code:

https://www.google.com/images/branding/googlelogo/2x/googlelogo_color_160x56dp.png
[/img]

Salutations Anonymous2,

The image file is already being stored/hosted locally as an attachment, for example:

Code:
https://www.dmt-nexus.me/forum/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1044671#post1044671

Actually the real url with a .jpg/.gif/.png extension gets filtered out dynamically if i care to attempt a quote:

Code:
[quote=Egzoset]Slim & Fat layouts.

[/quote]

As a result i may be forced to provide a link to the whole post instead of just re-using 1 single picture and hence this obviously multiplies the final cost on top of diminishing clarity & convenience severely, which doesn't seem like standard practice to me...

Surprised

You could use https://imgbb.com/ and upload your images there and just copy/paste the bbcode in different posts.

The assumption that functionality is lost simply to reduce hosting cost still makes no logical sense after i demonstrated how it can lead to the oposite result, not to mention i already adopted PostImages.Org a couple years ago anyway...
