Hi fellows!

I recently performed a mescaline extraction following 69 Ron's tek, in which added a bit of sodium carbonate to help breaking the emulsion. I'm quite happy with the results, I got 4 gr of unwashed final product, starting with 220 gr of Echinopsis Peruviana.
The dry cold MEK wash resulted of a loss of 20% of the total weight. After the purification step, I did a flame test with a bit of the powder and I observed a yellow flame that make me suspect that some of the sodium carbonate is trapped in my product.
Anyone knows how I can get rid of it? I was thinking a mini A/B would do the job, but maybe someone as a better idea. Today I'll wash the product again with Pete666 procedure (IPA, Acetone and Mek 1:1:1) to pursue purification.

Notwithstanding that it's most likely sodium acetate mixed with your product, one approach would be to find something that dissolves one component but not the other. Perhaps recrystallisation from boiling IPA would do the trick?

How would you perform that? Dissolve the material in dry IPA by boiling it (how long?), then cool to get recrystallized product?
Yesterday I washed it 3 times in dry acetone, and whereas the previous last MEK wash was almost clear, acetone seemed to remove a lot more junk. I lost 20 % of total weight.
I did a flame test again, and this yellow color was not as obvious.

Thanks for your idea Downwarfromzero, I washed once again with boiling IPA and the final product (now off-white) gives no more yellow color at the flame test. I'll let you know after bioassay!
