Firstly I should start out by saying I am an Atheist, I don't follow any religion, and I don't believe in God. I am more scientific, and don't see how Gods could create such unfair worlds of pain and suffering. It doesn't seem very Godly. However I would consider myself open to the idea of spirit, really I believe in consciousness, and light energy. I don't believe that when you die that's it, I think your consciousness moves to a higher dimension beyond this 3d world, and is recycled so to speak / re birth, I am open to that idea. I just don't put it down to "God" more physics and science beyond what our current understanding shows us.
That aside, I took long doses of DMT last night with the vape pen, prolonged trip.. While having sex, at one point I raised my hand in the air, almost like one of those ancient Greek statues of Gods, because it felt so incredibly divine I said out loud "This is for the Gods" as in it's so beautiful and amazing it must be what Gods feel like... anyway at that moment, I looked upwards with my eyes closed and saw tiny particles of light sprinkle down around me, and a presence.. a very real intense presence of something enlightened all around me, and the feelings and emotions of love and pure energy overwhelmed me. It was so intense I had tears in my eyes, it was like a dramatic realisation that there is something "Godly" around me, I was in utter shock. I took another couple of puffs on the vape... and found myself in a white space, something along the lines of a pantheon, it was a circular space with giant pillars / columns made of white and golden light, and in this place were many "Gods" or a huge sense of entities that were on another level, highly enlightened, pure energy, not even in physical bodies, like a council of wise elders that were ancient and infinite in nature. I could feel it intensely. Then I saw what seemed for want of a better word an "angel" a being made of only light that seemed to be gliding / flying softly across the space, not like an angel how people draw them, more like a vague figure of light moving more like a jelly fish... and I was looking up at it all from the bottom, thinking "Holy fucking shit what is this" It was insane, I don't know how to process it, it seemed completely real, like I was there. Yet I don't believe in God / Gods, so why am I hallucinating that. I am struggling to grasp it. It felt like the universe is awake, beyond space and time, infinite, and it's all light energy, and we are all just trying to become enlightened so we can stop being born in physical bodies and remain in that place as enlightened beings, like increasing your "light" or consciousness to higher levels is the goal of existence, to get to the point where you are just made of pure light without an actual body, just pure energy. It sounds like Buddhist ideas of reaching Nirvana. I've left feeling quite confused.
Anyone else have this experience?

The enlightened experience of gods, angels, light, and love. Yes I’ve had them.

I feel that I have a similar mindset to yourself when it comes to religion, but I have developed a very strong sense of the spirit, and feels and view religion and spirituality as totally different ideas.
Just because I don't believe there is an all knowing, all powerful god, but I have been left believing that there is some kind of (probably multiple, if not infinite) higher beings that, maybe aren't all powerful or all knowing, but are enlightened, and can provide these very spiritual, enlightening experiences.

What you want or don't want to believe in has no bearing on the truth and the facts. Drop your beliefs and then you begin to see and learn. You speak of the world being unfair and painful...I ask that we please think that over. What is the whole of existence and being? The question is worth so much more than whatever quick answer we can muster with limited thought--all thought is limited. See with your true eye, see with innocence. Question what I say, but also question yourself. How pure is in many the belief of no God? Have you noticed that in many it is actually fear that underlies their belief? How many eloquent atheists are ignorant and prideful? Ignorant, they speak harshly in discussions. The violence of organized religion they rebel against is the same exact violence they exercise in their lives. Who is wise, the eloquent man or the quiet man? And may I ask, is there anything true that lies outside of thought, that can be grasped outside of the illusion of the self? What is left once all illusion has been swept clean? "In him the seed of renewing life has been consumed. He has conquered all the inner worlds. With dispassionate eye he sees everywhere the falling and the uprising. And with great gladness he knows that he has finished. He has woken from his sleep. And the way he has taken is hidden from men, even from spirits and gods... By virtue of his purity." Whether or not the our path is to become light beings or if the physical universe is what we get is my question. I believe there is a perfected state of mind but am not sure if the that mind would be need to be physical for memory and grounding or if we all will become pure light. I like to think that maybe in order to be non-dual it would be both. In that the human being would become pure light but also able to exist and function within life. The fact that we have an end date is no coincident. It gives us meaning and finiteness it gives us a goal to reach towards in the mud. I think I just muddied things up . May wisdom permeate through your life.

Another thing that I always question is what would a being in pure light do all the time. Would it just sit in pure light. Maybe the bliss is enough to never need to do a single thing expect radiating your pure infinite love. What I hope is that the mystery continues on and on so that there is always things to figure out. May wisdom permeate through your life.

To my understanding, Christ, for example, is a title, and is from the Greek word Chrysalis, which means transformed or enlightened. Christianity literally translated in this context basically means enlightenment for everybody. I think it was one of the Pope Innocents that changed the eucharist to bread and wine sometime in the later middle ages. Have a look... Somebody's been BS'ing us. A great example, and one of many once you figure this stuff out, is Acts II about the disciples drinking a 'new wine'. Read that in the King James version, then take a look at the symptoms of Amanita Muscaria intoxication for example. Science is great, but they've long forgotten that there is something inherently supernatural in the fact that we exist at all. For all their achievement, they still can't tell you what a dream is, or explain laughter and intuition. We've swung too far in the other direction, and psychedelics is the true common ground between religion and science IMO.
