Well, decided to officially dive into the world of cacti cultivation. I've grown some (PC?) Pachanoi over the past few years with a buddy of mine, mainly just for the sake of growing. Although we'd taken several feet from it over the years just to get a few doses, nothing spectacular, as they were smaller dosages. Other than that, most of what id worked with prior was pre dried.
Anyhow, I recently went through companion plants for my trichs. I always loved their selection, also them being relatively close to me.
I recently purchased 4 Trichocereus from them - (2) Peruvianus, (1) Bridgesii, and (1) Pachanoi var. 'spiny backerberg'. Im fairly new to cacti. Been reading through host's article in the Nexian, and been following M S Smith on the Corroboree, along with Trouts work (which i've briefly skimmed through before).
Basically I just wanted to post some pictures of what I received and get feedback on what exactly I have. They all received tags when I got them from companion, although after hearing different things from a number of people, id like to post them here for further clarification, especially on the pachanoi var spiny backerberg (which I skimmed through trouts notes regarding this and it seems to be mostly a myth, and not actually related to backerbergs original black and white photo in his "1959 Die Cactaceae" piece.
Anyways, here's the pics:
The top 3 were taken from the two cacti labeled to be peruvianus. The next 4 down were taken from the one labeled to be bridgesii. Then the bottom 3 were from the one labeled to be the pachanoi var spiny backerberg.
