Thanks Nexus, I have discovered the amazing thread on Acacia's acacia and the work done by nen888 and others is so beautiful to read. It will take me a while to get through this massive yet profound thread, really enjoying it. I share much the same sentiments as getting to know the plants as spiritual entities in themselves and working with then in reverence. Again this is why I love the Nexus, I really know of no other place with such depth of information combined with right intention... Okay I will carry on researching and testing. If anyone does have direct experience with the above acacia erioloba and please do let me know in any case. Kurtles, none of your links work & you posted another thread 10 minutes after this post... Patience. Reminder that there is no need to use bark with acacias, and a lot of the species in the wild that are active are now at high risk due to exploitation. I <3 WATTLEZ

Thanks for the reply mate, I posted in another spot because I wasn't sure if this would get an answer (: I am very appreciative of our earth and nature and would never harm a tree. I've been looking into this for years and have done extractions but really want to start from scratch. I am very kind to all animals people and trees so there would be no worries. I am going to even grow one eventually and have it on my property for 40 years n share stories with it. The links are working for me :/ Either way, I really appreciate your reply. Thanks!

Hey Guys, as posted above, I'll try delete it if possible because it will be irelivent after this post, but I am in love with existence. I love myself with all my heart and every experience I encounter. I've been spending many years tinkering and extracting and all sorts of stuff, very patiently. I've been growing a lot over the last 8 year's and now I'm back in my home land. I am a really respectful person to myself, and that includes the nature around me. I really appreciate all plants and trees and animals and people, you name it. I'm probably not gonna do any extracts or anything straight away, but I want to start learning the plants, especially acacias, around me.. I'm not gonna just go start smashing beautiful trees to use them for their beautiful energy. I just want to become more attuned to these beautiful species. Literally, I am constantly walking up to trees and talking to them n staring in awe. Can anyone help me identify this? I would probably have an easier time if it was flowering, but that's the thing, I'm not even sure when it flowers. I have a feeling like during or at the end of winter? But maybe it's in spring I'm not sure. But this is what I want to learn. Maybe someone can point me in the right direction. Would probably help reading this whole thread but j just don't have the time at the moment to commit. I will though of course. Thanks if anyone can help me I really appreciate it. Looks like Acacia longifolia var sophorae to me (sometimes referred to as Acacia sophorae).
@FZA
Doesnt look like any acacia I am familiar with, leguminacea likely but not Acacia to me. What do others think?

I was thinking maybe Acacia dealbata and Acacia farnesiana. your first photo is Robinia pseudoacacia.. or black locust. Beautiful trees.. highly invasive around where I live. My house mate makes beautiful hunting bows out of the timber.. it is a prized plant for that purpose The second one I am not sure.. I have a ways to go with the subtleties in the bipinnate species of acacia..it looks very similar to Acacia Irrorata..but will look more into some bipinnate species grown internationally

Hey cola101 Thats a Eucalypt.. not an acacia.. confusa is not an Australian species so if you are based in oz you won't find it growing unless you grow it yourself. If you google search acacia confusa you will find many images of it to compare with your specimen... its quite different. Also for future, there is a dedicated thread for Acacia identification in the collaborative research section. [ MOD EDIT: moved it!] I'd suggest getting familiar with the differences between Acacia and other species first and foremost as that will greatly help you narrow down your searches... then in the beyond lies the next can of nuanced worms to open

Hey Aum.. pretty certain it is Acacia longifolia.. will be going to seed right now. The only other contender would be obtusifolia but that is only just about to flower and will go to seed in autumn next yr.. it will usually have red resinous margins on the phyllodes whereas longifolia tends not to. it seems to have some intermediary qualities with obtuse but longifolia is highly variable anwyays so my bet is on that I would test it as there are desireable varieties could you get some clearer photos with close ups of phyllodes?
