Alright, peoples. I dropped Hidoodlydo, Neighbor! on Known Origin this morning, and I'll be breaking it all down on Clubhouse at noon PST.

Come on by!

Alrighty then. Back to the bizness of further dividing the nation!

Trump Roast or: A Cookout in Hell - Clay Renders (2019)

I first had the idea for this one shortly after this stank-assed bucket o' evil first came into power. I started it, thought better of it, put it away, and would then take it out every once in awhile to work on like a voodoo doll. Finally finished in 2019, and one of these days I'll animate it.

Mark these words, good people:

When this fuckhead either does the perp walk (and I'm not quite as confident as I once was that this will ever happen...) or just drops dead from general fatness/consumption of bleach and hamberders (which statistically seems like it probably will...), I will be there to exploit his death, cash in with beaucoup NFT sales and wash away the filthy stink of his memory with MAGA tears.

Until then, paciencia y fe.

Cool, now do Biden.
Let us declare nature to be legitimate. All plants should be declared legal, and all animals for that matter. The notion of illegal plants and animals is obnoxious and ridiculous.

And with paint.

Trump Roast or: A Cookout in Hell (2019)

Note the actual Charlottesville souvenir tiki torches, history rewritten in Sharpie, hands of justice, fuck you fingers and heat resistant octopus.

Note: In real life, the flag would be drenched in pools of bloody ass-grease, but that could be construed as bad taste, and we endeavor to keep things classy. Can't imagine that his flabby carcass makes for lean cuisine, but it's probably lighter and healthier fare than most MAGA fatsos exist on.

And now for something completely different:

Drippity Doo Dah

I'm going to have this piece in a gallery show in Venice next week.

All of the pieces in the show will have an AR component, so the physical piece will be on the wall with an attached QR code (along with everything else in the show). You'll point your phone at the piece and this animated clip will play (which just happens to be available for purchase as an NFT, separate from the physical piece right here): www.foundation.app/ArtVanDlay5000/6541

What a world.

Confundibulum (2021)

It's a busy week for The House of Van D'lay. I have an edition of 5 of these questionable bad boys in a celebrity charity golf auction thingamadoodle later on this evening. It's actually a remix of a single frame from a 2020 animation, which was itself a remix of another earlier piece.

Same with the piece for the gallery show above; a remix of a remix of a remix.

But Art Van D'lay, why don't you sit down and make something new, instead of just regurgitating the same old bullcrap over and over and over?

Very rude question, but I am in fact working on something brand new which will fuck up your primitive monkey meat. Can't spill the beans about it just yet, but it's going to be explosivo.

Oh, hello there, Mr. Form3 and friends! Could this be the beginning of a whole new era?

From now on, I print everyfuckingthing. I won't be so much as walking my dog without magical skull scepter in hand, or going out to the grocery store in less than full samurai armor.

Seriously though, shit's gonna be fun. This will make some amazing things.

Is that the 3d printer? If you start making and selling objects I'm going to be stoked.

Like for real, man, sign me up! It would be a great way for you to launder all that fetal pineal cartel cash, too. Should I not mention that? Sorry, new around here. Wink

It is, yes. A really fucking good one, too, along with separate washing and curing units (the black boxes on either side of it).

Full disclosure: this stuff has been sitting next to me unplugged for at least the past two weeks. I've been so busy with what I'm working on (which is something I'm really hoping will finance a bunch more gear, software, classes, website and the like...) that I haven't even looked at the manual.

I don't have any current plans to start selling 2D or 3D prints, but it's not hard to imagine having a small online store in the not too distant future. Regardless, I'm sure something can make it's way to you eventually. Once I get up to speed on this bad boy, I'm sure I'll be using it daily, and I'm happy to send the folks who have been so graciously indulging me here these past many months some little printed tidbits.

Just as an aside, this is the first thing I've gotten to buy with NFT money, and it feels pretty damn good I have to say. When 2021 began, I didn't think I was ever going to support myself with my art, or for that matter even sell much at all anytime during my lifetime. NFT's have changed that, and although I'm still a long way from being able to rely on just this to sustain me, I'm 100% confident that day is on its way.

Not for nuthin', but if it's fetal pineal cash you're looking to launder, NFT's are the ticket. You probably wouldn't be the first. I suspect there's a fair amount of money scrubbing going on in the space.

Can't say it for a fact or nuthin', but it's certainly at least a potentially conducive environment for the baby pineal mafia (and other wealthy criminals), and I think it's pretty well documented that crypto currencies in general have been used quite a bit for that purpose.

Of course you can say the same of the traditional art world, which has always been rife with money laundering. But combine fine art (whose monetary value is based on nothing other than perception) with crypto currency (which is decentralized and not currently under the purview of the SEC), and you have an environment where money launderers are probably going to appear. With people flipping Cryptopunks and Bored Apes for seven figures, I just have to assume it's a factor somewhere within the ecosystem.

NFTs are primarily used for exactly money-laundering purpose right now, just look at the prices for some fine mspaint "art" pieces, the scheme is very simple:

1) make some "Art"
2) put whatever price tag on it
3) buy your own "Art" anonymously
4) swim in laundered cash

Yeah, I'm not sure if it's quite that simple, and the statement that they are "primarily" used for money laundering is really not at all accurate.
