Very excited to share this one with you shortly. It's in the hands of Dr. Fatstax now, and it's going to be explosivo.

Braingasm (from The Passion of the Popeye)

You may call it a moment of clarity, a divine blast of religious ecstasy or a drug fueled psychotic break, but however you prefer to frame it, it's The Passion of the Popeye.

It's coming at you very soon, and will fuck up your brain, I assure you.

I posted this shot once before, but here he is seen minus paint, braingasm, spinach rockets and exploding vegetable ejaculate.

It's The Passion of the Popeye and it's coming next week, only on Known Origin.

Coming together veeeery nicely. Gonna be a spicy meatball.

Just putting the finishing touches on this thing, and I don't mind saying that I have cracked the code here.

If this one doesn't bedazzle you into a synesthetic stupor, you are simply unbedazzleable and should check your third eye warranty.

Is Exxxtra Virgin Olive Oyl invited to the party? Sadly, she is not.

Despite having brought the magic monkey juice, this is to be a solo journey.

Alright, people. It's done, it's dusted, and I don't mind saying that it's very fucking good.

I'll be dropping it a week from today.

Only on Known Origin.

But Art Van D'lay, will there be apples, dice, skulls n' clocks?

But of course there will, silly tripper. It wouldn't be a Van D'lay Industries production without some esoteric symbolism.

This is just a little aside; an interesting comparative analysis of one online community to another.

I'm not at all a reddit guy. I find it overwhelming, and most often vacuous and obnoxious. However, I will from time to time post my work there (especially leading up to a drop), when I'm trying to attract more eyeballs. I haven't done it for the past few, because I hate the vibe there so much. I do get lots of engagement there, but much (or most) of it tends to be moronic and often hostile.

Compare that with here, where I get very little direct engagement on a daily basis, but with most of it tending to be quite incisive, and always free of trolliness.

Case in point: I just began sharing shots from the upcoming piece there last night (on a bunch of different subreddits, so it ain't just one I'm talking about), and by a very large margin most of the discussion revolves around whether or not Popeye's chin is a nutsack.

Well, at the danger of eliminating all mystery entirely, the answer is Yes; it's a nutsack. It is in fact, MY nutsack.

To that end, it amused me greatly while I was grinding into the wee wee hours on the crags of Popeye's chin that this might one day become a source of some debate or controversy. I concluded then that on this day I would surely respond with "Yes, it is in fact my nutsack, and you are ALL up in it, aren't ya? And how does it feel to know that you've been subliminally manipulated into lovingly pouring over every last fucking detail? Because make no mistake, you are under my control. You've been Videodromed, MuthaSucka! Now get back to the nooks and crannies of my horrible, elephantine nutsack. I will tell you when you can look away. Your brain belongs to Art Van D'lay."

This is all to say that you are no fun, DMT-Nexus. Sometimes it takes an inferior community to take the bait that I'm throwin' out there.

I mean, really. reddit is just the dumbest and rudest online community I've ever encountered.

My hope is that for every unsolicited "I hate this", "This is ugly", "Stop posting this now", "This has nothing to do with DMT" and "His face looks like a chode" type comment (and there have been MANY), that these folks take this as a metaphorical teabagging.

I mean honestly, I had one dude shaming me by saying he had just examined his own nutsack to compare, and concluded that my grid pattern nut wrinkles are completely unrealistic. Another dude chimed in just to pontificate on the shape and size of my dick.

Is the entire reddit community like 14 and under? It's really just staggering.

Just like they're all 14...

Much appreciated. It doesn't faze me personally, but it does piss me off to be honest.

I know what I'm doing and I know where I'm going. That's a result of thousands of hours of just putting my head down and doing it. So there's really not much one could say online that might alter my trajectory - but that's not the case for everyone out there who's sharing their art online.

It's a particularly worthless breed of human that makes it their business to tear down others who go out on the limbs that they won't. I'm guessing there are people out there who've encountered the same and then quit.

It's just a super toxic environment. I've not seen the likes of it elsewhere.

Tomorrow's the day. In the meantime, here is a new 4K render for you to hit them nooks and crannies. The original is twice the size and resolution, so's you can REALLY get up in it, but this should keep ya busy for the next 24 hours.

And if you somehow hadn't put two and two together, this would be Popeye smoking DMT.

You people are awfully quiet out there. Either you don't much care for Popeye, or you're just all painfully shy.

Either way, I'ma fuck up your brain now.

So, 1) Turn off the lights, 2) turn up the sound, 3) blow up to full screen 4) hit that GVG, 5) turn off your mind, 6) relax and float downstream. If you follow these steps in this precise order and watch on a loop for 5-10 minutes, I guarantee a wacky time.

Let your eye wander. Explore them nooks and crannies. Feel free to draw your own associations and don't be surprised if you see something new every time you watch it.

The Passion of the Popeye

https://knownorigin.io/g...e-passion-of-the-popeye

In which our hero encounters God.

We are, in fact, witness to the exact fucking moment of Popeye's divine epiphany - in which all is reduced to a singularity, that wellspring of all what yam.

Sculpted, painted and rendered 100% within ZBrush. 2D animation done in After Effects.

Video Size: 1920x1080

And if anyone wants the deep dive lowdown, I'll be on Clubhouse at noon PST today, discussing art, Popeye, life, drugs, and everything in between.
