Some enchanting trees there Seldom! Great photos that last phyllode is incredible are the black dots bugs of some sort or ants?

they're actually little rasps which cover the whole phyllode leading out to 'teeth' on its margins [hence 'denti'culosa], they're really solid and stiff aswell, making it's surface fairly abrasive, hence the name 'sandpaper wattle'. it's quite a rare one.
also looking at it today i think the unknown #6 may be A. merinthophora, the 'Zig Zag wattle'

Yes, but I realise a quick look at my previous posts would tell  So full of life, that was a month ago. They are full of seed at the moment. been a while since i've visited this thread but thanking everyone for their stunning contributions.. Gowpen.. your acuminatas are looking beautiful.. the flowers look like they must smell amazing.. here's a few from around the dandenong ranges.. the first three pictures, as if descending from the heavens are of course Acacia Floribunda.. (i loved the unusually broad phyllodes and gentle weeping habit of this one), followed then by a broader leafed variety of acacia mucronata subs. longifolia which in turn seems to be reaching towards the heavens, followed then by a strange form of mucronata which seems to be intermediate with floribunda (distinguished from floribunda by the shorter less abundant infloresence but in ways possessing similar foliage.. usually found on roadsides or small park reserves around the area) the final pic is acacia oxycedrus acacian attached the following image(s): DSCF1457.jpg (1,804kb) downloaded 105 time(s).
