I'm working on the backup, it will be there soon.

As for the huge amount of guests, most of the times it's someone trying to download the whole content of this forum. Also most of the times these downloaders hit the anti Denial Of Service brick wall of the DMT-Nexus at a certain point...

Geeze, I guess if I had waited a few seconds before starting a thread about weird stats I would have had my question answered!

Stats of April 2009:

Code:

Month             Visitors     Page Views     Bandwidth (KB)     Google Ads income (USD)
-----             --------     ----------     --------------     -----------------------
2009 April (*)    42,101       332,593        157,045,355        45,33

(*) April was only logged for the last 18 days due to logfile changes.

In April I changed the way the logfiles are created so it won't clog up the hard disk with one big file. Due to this change only the last 18 days of April were logged.

So the only thing to really say something about is the Google Ads income that increased again, I'm really happy about that fact and hope it will continue to increase.

Kind regards,

The Traveler

Is the income based on clicks? Thread views? Visitors? I'd gladly click a link every thread if it helped out.

The Traveler, do you have any idea where the download attempts are coming from? Have you checked their IP and snooped around? If you have not, I would be very interested in the actual IPs of these bastards.

Great to see the Google Ad incomes are increasing! I am clicking on some of them now and then, that's my way of donating. Pleased

Google got quite a system figuring out dishonest clicks. So I would be careful. I also hate to break it to you traveler, but google doesn't allow "drug related" sites, so you're just lucky at the moment to still have your account online.

The Google Ads income is based on clicking on the ads, but please only click an ad if it really interest you or else Google can revoke the account for suspicious click-behavior.

And about the drug related content, this site is all about the different aspects of hyperspace and the impact on our society, not drugs.

And yes, I know the IP's of the download attempts, they are logged when they are kicked from the server for too many download attempt in a short time. Some are from China, others from Romania and the USA.

Of course...google would think otherwise though.
But it was just a heads up...maybe nothing bad will happen.

I wasn't aware that Google had a good system in figuring out dishonest clicks, thank you for bringing that to my attention. I will not click unless really interested. Smile

Trav,

I black-holed all of china from my web server due to that crap years ago. NK is also a problem child for me. I used to run webalizer, but gave up on it as I really didnt care about stats.

Stats of May 2009:

Code:

Month             Visitors     Page Views     Bandwidth (KB)     Google Ads income
-----             --------     ----------     --------------     -----------------------
2009 May          64,542       621,739        252,086,567        57,15 (EURO) (*)

(*) From now on the Google ads are in EURO's.

In may the things that really stood out are the high increase in page views and the rise of the Google ads income, those two are probably related.

Kind regards,

This month we saw a huge increase in visitors, bandwidth and Google Ads income, the page views were a tiny bit lower though (the hits increased from 4.8 million to 6.1 million!).

The monthly hosting costs are about 100,- euro. We are slowly climbing towards the break even point for that so I hope this trend keeps up. Smile

I just stumbled upon an ad: The truth about LSD - drugfreeworld.org . I'm not sure if the nexus should advertise anti-drug propaganda. On the other side, it's pretty funny to think of an anti-psychedelic site financing a pro-psychedelic site.

Stats of August 2009:

Code:

Month             Visitors     Page Views     Bandwidth (KB)     Google Ads income
-----             --------     ----------     --------------     -----------------------
2009 August       126,281      773,152        302,069,349        83,51 (EURO)

This month we saw a continuation of the ever growing visitors and page views, luckily they used less bandwidth and gave the DMT-Nexus an increased income.

Kind regards,
