some mind blowing art in here!
we should think about speeding some out some psychedelics around art schools....we need more of that kind of beauty around.

I guess that's what art is to an artist. It saves your life everyday. Just don't ever stop and maybe this call to do yourself harm will dull to a tolerable whisper.

Hey People,

My First Mandala, it's inspired by DMT and it's 6 cornered crystals.

Great work Sebastion, and I love the painting Super Radical!

I believe you mean "Mandala" sorry to be meticulous with wording but if you are shooting for accuracy you may want to change that. Unless, of course, you are innovating the "Mandela"

Hahaha, thanks! I will change that right away!
BTW: to be honest, it isn't a painting, I used Apohysis 2.09, a free Fractal program.

Lots if great stuff here! I won't pick any favorites... But I really enjoyed the gecko, and all the stuff posted by Overdose is a lot of fun. Great internally consistent language. I agree that the hand-drawn aspect adds to its power. Great colors too, you nailed it. Have you seen any paintings by Allison Grey? You're probably familiar with her husband Alex's art, but Allyson does great stuff with this sort of abstract lettering that really reminds me of your art. May be coming from a similar place...

The Stevowicz Photoshop stuff is also a lot of fun.

The best thing about this gallery is that cybernauts are using visual art to communicate something very deep, abstract and elusive... And even with the most rudimentary drawing skills, the ideas come across. Too many people let themselves be limited by only doing things they are already experienced with... Which is a shame.

Art V and I got into this discussion of "talent"- a concept I don't personally believe in. Nobody is born with more "talent" than others. As children we all scribble and draw stick figures. Some of us keep at it and develop our language, while most have the desire and will beaten out of them by our homogenous culture. Anyone can re-connect with that part of themselves, any time.

I'll post some of my own stuff when the baby wakes up.

a few of mine...

First one is an attempt to recreate the feeling of the DMT chamber. I know it falls short in many ways but it's the most involved DMT painting I've done yet.

The second one is intended to recreate an LSD peak on a gorgeous September afternoon.

Third one is a close-to-verbatim image from a psilohuasca trip. I was looking at a smaller, simpler painting of mine, similar subject, during my peak... and saw this.

Beautiful Guyomech! I have actually seen these in my scouring the web for psychedelic art Smile
I'm especially drawn to the LSD cloud one, brings back wonderful memories.
