Our eBook is shaping up nicely!

We need 20-70 pages of solid, accessible, and scholarly material for the "Health and Safety of Psychedelic Botanicals" section.
feel free to use the wiki however you wish!

When I graduated in university a couple of years ago, my final dissertation was about the therapeutic potential of entheogens.. I wrote it in portuguese and have informally translated most of it into english (51 pages out of 60 or so).. The issue is, Im very busy lately so im not sure exactly when I'll be able to finish translating, but since most of it is done and it fits exactly with this subject here, I thought it might be of use..

I review a lot of the publications on the subject at hand, suggesting the different areas of therapeutic use, as well as giving a some info on pharmacology, safety, etc...

I'll attach it here, feel free to copy or use any information in the work

Whenever I do have time to finish the translation Ill let you guys know

I haven't had a chance to go through the entire thing at all, but here's a link to every edition of the Entheogen Review. I'm sure it has something. We can go through it a lot easier if more than one person is looking.

Let's take this enthusiasm and diligently start applying it!

Also new wiki/forum feature right here (THANKS TRAVELER!): you may edit right here in the forum!

I could write about + The Horrors of some Legal Medicines but i've been writting only lithuanian and russian scientific papers, so there could be lot's of syntax and grammar mistakes.

Nadir that would be wonderful if you could take The Horror Show Section!!
Breaking it up into chunks is key, no one ought have to writer THE WHOLE thing!

We got plenty of editors to help, no need to be shy about grammar!

The author proposes humans are all neurologically damaged for a variety of reasons (deficent in plant chemicals like flavanoids, MAOIs, etc.), and that psychedelics are essential to restoring our brains to a slightly more functional state (e.g. long term effects of working with Caapi, positive effects of working with DMT, etc.). Also, a change in diet and practice of meditation is powerful. Smile

Our perceptual disorder predisoposes us to the pathology of feelings of separation, fear, and tendencies to control...

It's a really deep argument, but there is a TON TON TON of all kinds of chemical and hormonal evidence... if anyone is interested, I highly recommend the book, and even getting in touch with the author. He writes because he is sincerely concerned for the wellbeing of humanity.

The symptoms of our brain damage perpetuate our own destruction: our FEAR of what we cannot understand (expanded consciousness) is treated with CONTROL (pathology of an already damaged neural system), which leads to more insane and damaging behavior (recent legal attacks on DMT), which will only deprive us of the consciousness-restorative medications we need (psychedelics). One example under a frightening framework that directly pertains to us. Half of our brain is crippled with fear, separation from whole, inability to correctly perceive reality, itself, or update mental concepts...

Anyway. Lots of good stuff here. Anyone seriously concerned with "the rational defense of psychedelics," this author's ideas are THE GOLDEN TICKET.

Seriously. Read the book and contact him!!

You can also find him in an interview on conscious.tv (under the "consciousness" category, poke around for Tony Wright), and he's on brainwaving.com and Reality Sandwich, too.
Some things will come easy, some will be a test

hey,
been very busy with work (working now on a barchelor's degree)
I've decided to share some of my thoughts connected to The Horrors of legal medicine
I decided to write an article about depressive disorders treatment
Here's the sketch:
1. Introduction and antidepressant therapy history
I really don't know if it's neccessary to write about the history, but perhaps some info could be interesting

2. Mechanism of depression
Here I took a short review about monoamine theory. Perhaps it should be much longer.
perhaps some info on biomedical health model and allopatic treatment here?

3.Ways to affect neurotransmission (in depression pharmacotherapy)
I'm gonna make it bigger, just need some spear time.
perhaps benzyme or someone else could look over it

4.Different types of AD and dangers associated with their usage
help here. got plenty of scholar papers for this purpose, but cannot manage to make a good structure
Only started to write some about TCAs and MAOIs.

5.Natural sources of AD: sceletium tortuosum, banisteriopsis caapi, curcumine, Hypericum Perforatum
Nothing at the moment, but I think there should be some info on positive therapeutic potential of these nice herbs.

Once again SORRY for being too slow. I really want to help, just need some extra time (easter holidays gonna be soonSmile).
And sorry for extremely simple english.
